add to discussion"That is the most life changing paragraph outside the Bible I have ever read. It has shaped everything I have though, preached, written and done one way or another for the last 25 years”Want to know what it is? See below:“God is glorified within Himself these two ways: 1. By appearing... to Himself in His own perfect idea [of Himself], or in His Son, who is the brightness of His glory. 2. By enjoying and delighting in Himself, by flowing forth in infinite . . . delight towards Himself, or in his Holy Spirit...So God glorifies Himself toward the creatures also in two ways: 1. By appearin... [read more]
add to discussionI noticed an article yesterday that hailed Obama as the "world's president" and today I noticed this article:"Brown to Call for New Global Financial System"Notice the first line: "LONDON — Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown will push for a new international financial system that updates the Bretton Woods agreement in a speech to be delivered Monday evening." He will purportedly say, "The British Government ... will begin to begin a new Bretton Woods with a new IMF that offers, by its surveillance of every economy, an early warning system and a crisis prevention mechanism for the whole... add to discussion"I have a theory that there are two kinds of boys. There are those that want to be astronomers, and those that want to be astronauts" (Alan Grant, Jurassic Park III).In honor of Michael Crichton (October 23, 1942 – November 4, 2008)
add to discussionThe command: 1Tim. 2:1-4 "First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."The encouragement: all of John MacArthur’s sermons are now available as free downloads at the Grace to You website. add to discussionThe video below is my last attempt to show the importance of this election. Since President Bush appointed Roberts and Alito to the Supremem Court, and since the next president will also likely have two appointments, I believe a vote for Obama is a vote for Roe vs. Wade. Are you willing to support such a barbaric practice?
add to discussionAn "Anonymous" commenter recently discovered the real reason I'm not voting for Obama:"I fully support Obama and had [sic] already voted. Please do not let your narrow veiw [sic] of race stand in the way and then pretend it is because of the abortion issue."No "Anonymous," I really do think that abortion is murder, and I really do think voting for a man that supports murder is wrong. I hope you watched the video from 10/23/2008 that shows what Obama supports (please scroll down).Question: if you really claim agnosticism concerning the abortion debate, why would you ever err on the side of a... add to discussion"If the current polls hold, Barack Obama will win the White House on November 4 and Democrats will consolidate their Congressional majorities, probably with a filibuster-proof Senate or very close to it. Without the ability to filibuster, the Senate would become like the House, able to pass whatever the majority wants.Though we doubt most Americans realize it, this would be one of the most profound political and ideological shifts in U.S. history. Liberals would dominate the entire government in a way they haven’t since 1965, or 1933. In other words, the election would mark the restoratio... [read more]
add to discussionFYI: you may now access some classes from DTS on iTunesU for free! All you have to do is download iTunes here (for Mac or PC), go to the "iTunes Store" in the left sidebar of the application, and then click on iTunesU in the left sidebar of the store. Scroll down and click "Colleges and Universities" to access Dallas Theological Seminary. I also highly recommend Reformed Theological Seminary because their catalogue is more extensive.
