Today, 10th November is the 525th anniversary of Martin Luther who was born in 1483. The Desiring God Blog have marked the occasion here: Thank God for Martin Luther. Been reading Calvin’s Insititutes (brilliant stuff!). Here’s a quote on the Trinity: And that passage in Gregory of Nazianzus vastly delights me: “I cannot think on the one [God] without quickly being encircled by the splendor of the three [Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit] nor can I discern the three [Persons] without being straightway carried back to the one [God]“. Recently Reform met for their Annual Conference. Here is the subsequent press release:  October 17th, 2008 REFORM PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR GAFCON MOVEMENT Reform, the 1,700-strong conservative evangelical network, has pledged support for the initiatives of GAFCON at its annual conference in London. Yesterday 5th October was the 305th anniversary of the birthday of the great American theologian Jonathan Edwards. He was born on 5th October 1703 in East Windsor, Connecticut and died on 22nd March 1758. He is possibly best known for his sermon Sinners In The Hands of An Angry God. To Celebrate his 300th anniversary in 2003 Mark Dever of Capitol Hill Baptist Church preached this sermon. You can download the MP3 for free here. Since moving to work for a Church (which is fantastic!) my amount of blogging time has decreased. However, Mark Altrogge shares some good and helpful thoughts: Read Books, Not Blogs - a great encouragement not to read blogs at the expense of good books.
